Maple's Dense, hard grain has long made it a traditional wood of choice for everything from gym floors to fine furniture and cabinetry. Today it's clear, mellow grain accented by occasional swirls also make Maple a quite fashionable floor in a variety of traditional and contemporary settings.

If everything old is new again, Maple's resurgence in popularity stands as a fashionable example. Once used extensively for flooring in the early though mid-20th century, it was gradually replaced by Oak. Today, Maple is once again being specified in everything from Ski chalets, to farmhouses, to urban lofts by owners who cherish its distinctive honey-blond look.
